Distributing and receiving office correspondence.Essential duties and responsibilities (3-5 core functions representing 80% of time spent):Responsible for processing all incoming referrals including mailing of new patient paperwork for the clinic, verifies benefits eligibility and insurance coverage, insurance authorizations and completes the patient intake process.Responsible for provider schedule by utilizing the recall list as well as looking for appropriate opportunities to move scheduled new patients and follow up patient’s appointments forward to fill open time slots.Completes client check-in and registers patients.Index incoming faxes by utilizing and following established protocols. Assist in revenue cycle management by verifying patient demographic information, verifying insurance coverage and collecting for any patient co-pays, deductibles or past due balances.Checks out patients at the end of each visit, helps the patients complete the patient satisfaction survey and schedules any follow-up appointments.Assists with maintaining the referring doctor and PCP database.Responsible for answering calls and routing clients to appropriate staff.Adheres strictly to rules and regulations pertaining to confidentiality.Facilitate calls for medical information from doctor’s offices, insurance carriers and Medicare.Responsible for notifying the billing department for any authorization needed. File and mail letters out to patients and referring providers.Must wear all protective equipment required by department.Must follow all company policies and procedures including departmental safety policies.Maintaining the data base and reporting to Marketing all OPT OUT emails. Performs all other duties as assigned.Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Licensure, Certification)Requires HS diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of experience as a clinic receptionist.
