This is an opportunity to join a growing data organization that is transitioning to a cloud-based architecture centered around Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.\n\nThe Data Architect will work closely with a team of Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Data Scientists to establish the technical vision, architecture, and standards for the organization’s modern data environment. This person will provide hands-on technical leadership to the engineering team while helping move the platform from its current development stage into a scalable, production-ready environment.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nDefine and implement the architecture for a modern cloud data lakehouse using GCP, BigQuery, and related technologies.\nPartner closely with Data Engineers to translate architectural strategy into scalable, production-ready solutions.\nEstablish standards and best practices for data ingestion, transformation, storage, orchestration, security, governance, and performance.\nHelp accelerate the development and deployment of the organization’s GCP data platform.\nEvaluate existing architecture and recommend improvements to increase scalability, reliability, performance, and development velocity.\nProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to a team of Data Engineers.\nWork with Data Analysts and Data Scientists to ensure the data platform effectively supports analytics, reporting, machine learning, and AI initiatives.\nCollaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.\nStay current with emerging data and AI technologies and identify opportunities to incorporate AI into engineering processes and business solutions.\nRemain hands-on with technology, including troubleshooting complex technical challenges and demonstrating solutions for the engineering team.\n\n8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a related field.\nProven experience designing and implementing modern data lakehouse architectures.\nStrong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.\nStrong SQL and Python skills, with the ability to demonstrate practical experience.\nExperience with modern cloud data pipelines, data modeling, orchestration, and analytics architectures.\nExperience providing technical direction and mentorship to Data Engineers.\nStrong understanding of data platform scalability, performance, security, governance, and reliability.\nAbility to balance long-term architecture with hands-on technical delivery.\nPassion for AI and a demonstrated interest in identifying practical ways to leverage AI within engineering workflows and business solutions.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nTechnology Doesn't Change the World, People Do. ®\n\nRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
