Senior Index Specialist

The Index Specialist role sits within the Index Delivery Group (ID), which is part of FTSE Russell – Benchmark & Index Management.The ID is responsible for the coordination, creation and delivery of all new FTSE Russell index products, including Bespoke & Custom Index products. Areas of responsibility are bespoke/custom index design/creation/delivery, FTSE Russell standard index creation/delivery, enhancing product content, introducing new content/capability and responsible for the implementation of policy change into FTSE Russell product. The department has a global responsibility.ID specialists are subject matter authorities for certain strategic projects which have major structural changes to indexes or product files. Examples of this would be implementing the Country Classification changes into our Index platforms (e.g. moving country status from Developed to Emerging).The team is primarily focused on Equity product and has a commercial responsibility (i.e. produces revenue) to the Bespoke & Custom Index business.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintaining the excellent quality standards within the Index Delivery team.Collation, analysis and manipulation of index related data to support index and product builds according to client requirements and in line with client and business expectations for delivery into the live environment.Creation, testing and validation of index structures and products, including quality assurance testing of data, index calculations and index returns.Assistance in the provision of commercial terms for new custom requests.Assistance in the collation and maintenance of index delivery schedules.Creation and maintenance of index specifications and supporting documentation, in accordance with the IOSCO Principles.Adherence to agreed processes for index build, testing, validation and handover to live in order ensure highest quality levels.Client support and query resolution.Consultative approach and team effort with the other FTSE Russell teams.Candidate Profile / Key SkillsQualifications/ ExperienceIt is expected that with limited supervision the individual will deliver each of the key objectives of the role identified above, working to strict deadlines and to the highest degree of accuracy.
