{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"14822856cc07cea02bf87dd3","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/14822856cc07cea02bf87dd3","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/14822856cc07cea02bf87dd3","title":"Computer Numerical Control Programmer","description":"Smart4Chemicals are recruiting for a leading aerospace manufacturing business for a Senior CNC Programmer / Engineer based at their facility in Sylmar, California.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional to take a leading role in CNC programming, process planning, tooling, machine selection, and continuous improvement across multi-axis CNC machining operations.You will be responsible for developing and optimizing machining strategies for precision plastic transparencies, composites, and aerospace tooling components, while evaluating new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing capability, quality, efficiency, and cost.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling machinesSupport the manufacture of precision plastic transparencies, composites, and aerospace tooling componentsUtilize CAD/CAM software including Mastercam, Siemens NX, CATIA, or similarDesign and qualify cutting tools, fixturing, and work-holding solutionsEstablish and optimize machining parameters, coolant/lubrication strategies, and machining processesDrive improvements in tool life, dimensional accuracy, surface finish, process reliability, and production efficiencyUtilize CNC simulation and verification software such as VERICUT for program validation and collision avoidanceInterpret technical drawings, GD&T, and 3D CAD models to develop accurate toolpathsResearch and implement emerging machining technologies, tooling solutions, and industry best practicesWork with suppliers and attend industry events to benchmark and identify new manufacturing technologiesEvaluate and recommend new CNC machinery and equipment to support future manufacturing capabilitySupport capital investment decisions and continuous improvement initiatives across the facilityEnsure machining processes meet AS9100 and relevant aerospace industry standardsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred7+ years' experience in CNC programming and machining within aerospace, defence, or other high-precision manufacturing environmentsStrong experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining, ideally including plastics machiningExperience with CNC platforms such as Zimmermann, CMS, Makino, DMG MORI, Mazak, Okuma, or HaasStrong knowledge of CATIA.Strong G-code and M-code programming experienceKnowledge of GD&T / ASME Y14.5 and precision blueprint interpretationExperience working to aerospace quality standards, particularly AS9100, is highly desirableTechnically curious with a strong interest in emerging machining technologies and process optimizationSalary: $110,000 -
