This role performs complex technical work involving circuit-level diagnostics, board bring-up, instrumentation setup, failure analysis, and prototype support while partnering closely with engineers to support development priorities. The position requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.\r\nDuties & Responsibilities:\r\n\r\nPerform advanced troubleshooting, repair, testing, and validation of electronic assemblies, printed circuit boards, subassemblies, and prototype systems using schematics, technical documentation, and electronic test equipment.\r\nPerform precision hand soldering and rework of surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components, including micro-pitch devices such as QFN, QFP, BGA, and 0201/01005 passive components.\r\nUse microscopes, magnifying tools and precision equipment to ensure accurate component placement and high-precision quality soldering results.\r\nBuild, modify, rework, and assemble electronic prototypes, cables, fixtures, and test setups to support engineering development and verification activities.\r\nConduct board-level diagnostics and failure analysis using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, signal generators, and other laboratory instrumentation.\r\nSupport prototype bring-up, debug activities, and engineering design modifications through component replacement, soldering, rework, and technical evaluation.\r\nInterpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering instructions to execute technical assignments accurately and efficiently.\r\nPartner closely with engineers to support product development activities, including prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.\r\nAssist with evaluation of components, materials, and assemblies during development and failure investigation activities.\r\nDocument technical observations, test results, prototype changes, and repair activities in accordance with engineering procedures and quality requirements.\r\nMaintain laboratory equipment, tools, and workspaces to ensure safe, organized, and efficient operation of the electronics lab environment.\r\nIdentify opportunities to improve lab processes, test methods, fixture setup, and technician workflows to support efficiency and reliability.\r\nProvide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians as needed.\r\n\r\nMinimum Qualifications\r\n\r\n\r\n6+ years of progressively responsible experience in electronics technician, engineering lap support, prototype development, or related technical roles\r\n\r\n\r\nStrong hands-on experience troubleshooting analog and digital electronic circuits\r\n\r\n\r\nAdvanced micro-soldering and rework skills, including surface-mount and through-hole components and fine-pitch electronic assemblies\r\n\r\n\r\nProficiency using standard electronic lab instrumentation and diagnostic equipment\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to perform precision component replacement and repair on PCB assemblies\r\n\r\n\r\nAbility to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation\r\n\r\n\r\nStrong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities\r\n\r\n\r\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\r\n\r\n\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience supporting prototype development within medical device, regulated manufacturing, or other high-reliability product development environments\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience supporting failure analysis, component evaluation, and laboratory test setup activities\r\n\r\n\r\nFamiliarity with engineering change processes, technical documentation requirements, and quality-driven product development environments\r\n\r\n\r\nPrior experience providing technical guidance or support to junior technicians\r\n\r\n\r\nEducation\r\n\r\nAssociate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical field required. Equivalent combination of technical training and relevant experience may be considered.\r\n\r\nLanguage requirements\r\n\r\nAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in English\r\nAbility to interpret technical documents, schematics, and written instructions\r\nAbility to clearly document technical findings and communicate with cross-functional team members\r\n\r\nCompensation\r\nThe anticipated hourly range for this position is $33/hr - $39/hr plus benefits. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.
