Industrial Maintenance Technician
Position Details🕒 Schedule: Monday - Thursday 💼 1st Shift: 5:30am - 4:00pm 💼 2nd Shift: 4:30pm - 3:00am Weekend (Friday - Sunday): 💼 1st Shift: 5:00am - 5:00pm 💼 2nd Shift: 5:00pm - 5:00am ⏱️ Overtime: Required as business needsWhat You’ll Do -You will provide advanced technical support to ensure reliability, safety, and continuous improvement of automated and production systems.Automation, Controls & Advanced TroubleshootingWork within automation environments, including understanding PLC logic and equipment handshakingConnect remotely to PLCs via VPN to monitor, diagnose, and support active processesTroubleshoot and repair electrical control issues using schematics, multimeters, amp probes, and MeggersEdit and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic across multiple platforms (ABB, Mitsubishi, Allen‑Bradley, Direct Logic, Control Technology Corporation)Install, troubleshoot, and support:Servos, VFDs, sensors, motors, encodersLight curtains, safety relays, HMIs, and PLC hardwareBuild and wire control panels and electrical circuits according to schematicsRobotics, Equipment & Continuous ImprovementSupport robotic welding and automation systems, including Panasonic and Motoman integration with PLCsTroubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and robotic breakdowns with urgencyEvaluate equipment capabilities and implement modifications through continuous improvement initiativesUpgrade systems and identify suitable replacement components for obsolete equipmentPerform new equipment setup, commissioning, and diagnosticsApply predictive and preventive maintenance practices to prevent failuresLeadership, Safety & DocumentationContribute to team success by driving root‑cause corrective actions rather than temporary fixesMentor and train maintenance employees respectfully and effectivelyPerform all tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate, and highly productive manner according to company policyFollow and demonstrate best practices related to:Arc FlashLockout/Tagout (LOTO)Confined SpaceFall ProtectionMaintain clear documentation including work logs, PM schedules, manuals, and component change recordsMaintain reliable attendance and support mandatory overtime as requiredPerform other duties as assignedNote: Maintenance Technician III employees must provide their own tools to perform maintenance tasks.EducationWhat You Bring - High school diploma or equivalent (based on education and work experience)Experience & SkillsAdvanced ability to troubleshoot and edit PLC ladder logicStrong electrical, robotic, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skillsExperience with automation hardware and safety systemsControl panel building and electrical wiring experienceWorking knowledge of light fabrication, welding, cutting, and hand toolsStrong understanding of predictive maintenance principlesAbility to read and interpret prints, electrical schematics, ladder logic, manuals, and computer‑based systemsStrong documentation and communication skillsAbility to work at a fast pace, understand urgency, adapt to change, and take ownership of resultsBasic math skillsCore CompetenciesAdvanced Troubleshooting: Electrical, PLC, robotic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsMentorship: Willing and able to train and support other maintenance employeesTechnical Independence: Able to perform complex tasks with minimal supervisionProfessionalism: Strong cross‑functional communication and organizational skillsTraining & DevelopmentCompany‑provided training, which may include:Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)Utility and golf cart operationAerial lift training (boom, scissor, forklift, manlift)Fall protectionArc flash trainingConfined spaceOverhead crane operationsWork Environment & Physical ExpectationsThis role requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
