Firefly designs and builds small- to medium-lift launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles for government and commercial missions from low Earth orbit to the Moon and beyond. Together, our teams leverage advanced carbon composite structures, patented propulsion technologies, and common components across platforms to move fast, improve reliability, and deliver payloads at a lower cost.\nKey Duties:\nPerform all steps required to manufacture aerospace-grade composite parts in accordance with engineering requirements and quality standards.\nCut carbon fiber materials using hand tools to tight tolerances.\nExecute composite bonding operations, including surface abrasion, cleaning, adhesive preparation, application, and bondline control.\nPerform hand lamination of composite materials, including carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, film adhesives, and foam or metallic core structures.\nSet up and execute full vacuum bag cure cycles, including instrumentation setup, debulking, and monitoring oven cure runs.\nCure materials in accordance with manufacturer specifications and documented process requirements.\nHandle, track, and document materials in compliance with AS9100 and internal quality requirements.\nIdentify and perform scarf repairs, including locating and removing scarfed plies as required.\nSupport concept-of-operations and tooling design discussions for new and future products.\nPartner with Engineering to improve composite bonding processes, fabrication methods, and product designs.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, quality, and repeatability within composite fabrication operations.\n\nRequired Skills, Experience, and Education:\nDue to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for consideration at this time.\nDemonstrated mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of precision assembly techniques.\nHigh attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship in all phases of assembly and fabrication.\nProven ability to drill, locate, and lay out precision holes to tight tolerances.\nProficiency in the use of pneumatic tools, hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments.\nAbility to read, interpret, and execute drilling, lamination, and assembly drawings and work instructions.\nExperience working with material data sheets and process specifications.\nStrong commitment to shop organization, cleanliness, and standard work practices.\nConsistent use of required personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures.\nBusiness Profile:\nCimarron is a global solutions company with a strategic partnering approach to satisfying customer-driven requirements.
