Middle School Assistant Principal

The Parkway School District Department of Human Resources is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Principal at Central Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year.ResponsibilitiesSuccessful candidates will possess a strong desire to work within a school community that focuses on the development of the whole child. The Assistant Principal will work with the leadership team to create conditions for all students to excel at high levels and become moral and ethical citizens. Working with students, staff, and parents, the Assistant Principal has major responsibilities in the following areas:Promoting educational equity and social justiceFocusing on the character development of studentsSupervising classroom instruction, curriculum implementation, and student assessmentSupporting the work of professional learning communitiesAnalyzing student assessment data and implementing school improvement plansFacilitating restorative practices with students, staff, and familiesSelecting, developing, and evaluating teachersInvolving the community in building a student-centered school climateDeveloping relationships among students, staff, and the broader communityCultivating an environment that supports cultural diversity, equity, staff engagement, and teamworkIn addition, the candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to develop relationships with students, staff, families, and community members. A candidate is considered eligible if they have completed all coursework, passed the appropriate DESE Building-Level Administrator assessment, and have appropriate certification issued by July 1.
