You'll wear three hats: you'll write code, you'll own and maintain our infrastructure, and you'll be the technical point of contact for our enterprise customers' IT teams.If you like building, breaking, fixing, and explaining infrastructure, and you're energized by being in the room with customers, this role is for you.What You'll OwnCodeWrite production code to build internal tooling, integrations, and infrastructure automationContribute to backend services where infrastructure and application code intersectBuild and maintain the integration code that connects Aviary to customer systems — including API integrations, webhook delivery, and data ingestion pipelines (e.g., SFTP file processing)InfrastructureArchitect, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure on AWS (primary), with limited presence on GCP and AzureManage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure-as-codeIntroduce database redundancy, multi-region hosting, and reliability improvements as we scaleOwn cost, performance, and security across the stackCustomer ITServe as the primary technical point of contact for enterprise customers' IT teamsLead onboarding and setup for SAML SSO, OIDC, and SFTP integrationsAnswer customer IT questions on infrastructure, security, networking, and integrationsPartner with customer security teams on reviews and compliance questionsTranslate customer requirements into engineering work and represent customer needs internallyWhat We're Looking For2+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or platform engineering roleStrong coding ability in at least one production language (Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar) — comfortable shipping application code, not just scriptsDeep hands-on expertise with AWS; working familiarity with GCP and/or AzureStrong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar)Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and GitHub Actions in productionHands-on experience setting up SAML SSO, OIDC, and SFTP for enterprise customersSolid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, VPCs, firewalls)Excellent customer-facing communication — comfortable leading technical conversations with enterprise IT and security teamsProven ability to operate as a senior IC — owning systems end-to-end with minimal oversightNice to HavePrior experience in a customer-facing engineering role (solutions architect, integration engineer, sales engineer, or similar)Experience supporting AI/ML workloads or self-hosted model infrastructureSecurity or compliance experience (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA)Background in early-stage or high-growth SaaS environmentsWhat We OfferEquityHybrid work - 3+ days in our NYC officeHealth, dental, and vision coverageUnlimited PTOIn-office meals stipendLearning & development budget
