This role ensures delivery of secure, scalable, high-performance network solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments in support of CISA's mission.\r\nThe Lead Network Engineer provides advanced technical leadership, supports enterprise modernization initiatives, and ensures network environments are resilient, interoperable, and compliant with DHS security requirements.\r\nKey Responsibilities Network Architecture & Design Lead design and engineering of enterprise network infrastructure (WAN, LAN, DNS, wireless, and cloud networking)\r\nDevelop and maintain network architecture designs and supporting documentation\r\nEnsure solutions meet performance, scalability, and security requirements\r\nEngineering & Implementation Engineer, test, and implement network solutions across CISA facilities and cloud environments\r\nSupport deployment of connectivity to cloud services (e.g., hybrid and multi-cloud architectures)\r\nEnsure all implementations meet DHS and CISA security standards\r\nTechnical Expertise & Tier 3 Support Provide advanced (Tier 3) troubleshooting and escalation support for network incidents and issues\r\nLead root cause analysis and resolution of complex network problems\r\nProvide expert technical guidance to engineering teams and Government stakeholders\r\nInfrastructure Operations & Optimization Maintain the integrity and performance of enterprise network systems\r\nSupport monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization\r\nEnsure network reliability, availability, and resilience across environments\r\nConfiguration & Change Management Develop and implement network-related Change Requests (CRs) and documentation\r\nSupport configuration management processes and review gates\r\nCoordinate with stakeholders for approvals, implementation, and communication\r\nTesting & Integration Conduct testing of hardware, software, and network solutions prior to production deployment\r\nDevelop and execute test plans and validate system performance and integration\r\nProduce test reports and support implementation plans\r\nSecurity & Compliance Implement and maintain network security controls in accordance with DHS policies and NIST standards\r\nSupport vulnerability management, patching, and system hardening\r\nEnsure compliance with federal security requirements and operational standards\r\nRequired Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field\r\nAdditional experience may substitute for formal education (per Government guidance)\r\nExperience Minimum 10 years of experience in network engineering and design\r\nDemonstrated experience with enterprise network infrastructure and large-scale environments\r\nExperience supporting federal IT systems and mission-critical operations\r\nDesired Qualifications Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, hybrid cloud environments)\r\nFamiliarity with DHS/CISA network environments and security requirements\r\nExperience integrating identity, access management, and enterprise services\r\nRelevant technical certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP)\r\nKey Competencies Enterprise network architecture and design\r\nAdvanced troubleshooting and problem resolution\r\nCloud and hybrid network engineering\r\nSecurity-focused network implementation\r\nCollaboration and technical leadership\r\nWork Environment & Requirements Ability to support classified environments up to Top Secret/SCI clearance\r\nRequired to support on-site operations at DHS facilities with some telework flexibility\r\nMay require support during non-standard hours to maintain operational continuity\r\nDSA209\r\nLI-JE1\r\nMany of DSA's positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
