This individual must be capable of handling multiple set-ups and short-run jobs while maintaining high-quality standards and optimizing machining processes.\nKey Responsibilities\n· Study blueprints, layouts, and technical charts to determine materials, sequences of operations, dimensions, and tooling instructions.\n· Write, edit, and adjust CNC programs as necessary based on engineering drawings and job requirements.\n· Select appropriate cutting tools and tooling instructions based on metal properties and machining requirements.\n· Position, secure, and align cutting tools in tool holders on the machine using hand tools, verifying accuracy with measuring instruments.\n· Adjust and set cutting speeds, depths, and feed rates to optimize machining efficiency.\n· Run machines through full cycles, stopping to adjust tool positions and machine controls as needed to maintain precision.\n· Observe machine operations, inspect finished parts, and verify conformance with specifications using measuring instruments.\n· Identify and implement process and procedural improvements to enhance efficiency and quality in a machine shop environment.\n· Manage and prioritize multiple set-ups and short-run jobs while maintaining production schedules.\n· Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all company safety protocols.\nQualifications\n· High school diploma or equivalent.\n· 5 to 8 years of experience in a precision machine shop environment.\n· Ability to set up and operate CNC machines with Okuma, HAAS, and Fanuc controls.\n· Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex mechanical drawings and tolerances.\n· Strong knowledge of CNC programming, tooling selection, and machining principles.\n· Experience in troubleshooting and making adjustments to improve job performance.\n· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-production environment.\n· Effective verbal and written communication skills.\nWhy Join AST?\nAt AST, we believe in fostering a work environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally.
