The PEA program will support TSA as they continue to look for ways to enhance its layered approach to security through new state-of-the-art technologies, expanded use of existing and proven technologies, improved passenger identification techniques, and other developments that will continue to strengthen anti-terrorism capabilities.\nResponsibilities:\nSupport the administration and operations management for on-premises and cloud data science and data analytics environment\nCollaborate with user community of the data science & analytics environment to assist with environment usage and identify opportunities for improvements\nSupport the administration of the data science notebook environment (e.g., Zeppelin)\nSupport the administration of the ETL environment (e.g. IBM Informatica)\nSupport the administration of the visualization environment (e.g. Microsoft Power BI Server)\nSupport the administration of the R/Python environment to include the data science packages\nSupport the administration of the data science tools on the desktops (e.g. Programming IDEs, SQL editors, desktop clients for the tools above)\nIndependently install, customize and integrate commercial software packages\nIntegrate and deploy data science applications with the TSA program infrastructure and platforms\nEnsure regular application maintenance is performed and conduct post maintenance testing to ensure applications are working correctly – includes planning, coordination and communication activities\nResponding to reported incidents for the data science environment and maintaining incidents and production support in the ticketing system and/or via Agile stories (work items)\nRespond to security tickets for the data science applications and ensure security ticket response is tracked via Agile stories (work items)\nFacilitate root cause analysis (RCA) of system issues\nSupport the optimization of the data science application environment and identify areas to improve system performance and availability\nComplete security tickets by gathering evidence/artifacts, submitting evidence to the program security department, and closing the associated tickets or Agile stories\nQualifications:\nRequired:\n\n10+ years’ experience and a Bachelor’s degree\nExperience with environments and tools listed below:\nOn-premises and Cloud database, data science and data analytics environments\nAdministration experience with IBM Integrated Analytics System, IBM Sailfish (formerly Netezza; hardware accelerated database appliance), AWS Redshift or similar products\nExpertise with query troubleshooting and optimization to include analyzing optimization plans, debugging stored procedures, and analyzing table structures\nSkills in troubleshooting connections to a database or database appliance\n\nNotebook environment\nAdministration experience with Apache Zeppelin or similar web-based notebook collaboration environment (e.g. JupyterLabs)\nSkills in setting up connections and interpreters to local file systems, external file systems, external databases, and programming languages such as Java, SQL, Python, and R\nExperience with performance troubleshooting of Python and R code in a notebook or data science toolkit environment\n\nETL Environment\nAdministration experience with Informatica or similar ETL tools\nExperience with performance troubleshooting of ETL issues\nFamiliarity with web application support for the ETL tools\n\nVisualization environment\nAdministration experience with Microsoft Power BI Report server or similar business intelligence tool\nExperience with performance troubleshooting the reporting infrastructure\nFamiliarity with web application support and desktop support for visualization tools\n\nPython/R environment\nExperience with package maintenance and dependency checks for languages such as R and Python\nExperience with deploying packages to Windows desktops, Windows Servers, and RHEL servers from external sources such as Pypi.org and cran\nExperience with resolving dependency issues for R and Python\n\nDesktop tools\nExperience maintaining and upgrading tools in a Windows desktop environment\n\nCertificate maintenance\nExperience with updating server and application certificate key stores in a RHEL or similar environment\n\nPreferred:\n\nExperience working in TSA mission or DHS environment\nExperience working in data science and data analytics environments\nExperience working in Agile environments\nAWS Cloud migration experience\nExperience with RHEL8, Elasticsearch/Kibana and AWS Cloud products (including Redshift, Glue)\nSystems engineering background and/or skills\nMaster of Science degree\nCompany Overview:\nIntegral partners with federal defense, intelligence, and civilian leaders to tackle their most important challenges and deliver positive outcomes.
