This role combines technical leadership, people management, and delivery ownership, ensuring high-quality software solutions while building and leading a high-performing engineering team.The individual will oversee backend, frontend, and database development using Java Spring Boot, React, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL, provide architectural direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with product, business, and leadership stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & ArchitectureOwn and drive end-to-end technical architecture, design decisions, and solution implementation across full-stack systems.Define and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and design patterns for scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.Lead backend development using Java Spring Boot and microservices architecture, and frontend development using React and modern JavaScript frameworks.Guide API strategy, system integrations, and data flow across frontend, backend, and third-party services.People Management & Team LeadershipManage, mentor, and develop a team of junior, mid-level, and senior engineers.Conduct technical reviews, performance feedback, and career development planning for team members.Foster a strong engineering culture focused on quality, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Allocate work, set priorities, and ensure balanced workload across the team.Delivery & Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with product managers, architects, QA, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical roadmaps and execution plans.Own delivery commitments, timelines, and technical risk management.Ensure on-time delivery of milestones while maintaining engineering excellence.Act as the technical escalation point for complex production issues and critical decision making.Quality, Performance & OperationsOversee code reviews, security practices, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis.Drive database design, optimization, and query performance using PostgreSQL/SQL.Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, version control, and release management processes.Eligibility RequirementsMust-Have Technical SkillsBackend: Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, RESTful API designFrontend: React, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSSDatabase: PostgreSQL, SQL (advanced query development, optimization, and schema design)Integration: JSON parsing, API integrations, microservices communicationDevOps & Tools: Git, CI/CD pipelines, Maven/GradleStrong understanding of system design, scalable architectures, and enterprise design patterns Preferred SkillsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Docker and Kubernetes for containerized microservices deploymentBackground in performance engineering, observability, and application optimizationExperience working in Agile/Scrum development environmentsLeadership & Soft SkillsProven experience leading and managing engineering teamsStrong decision-making ability with a balance of technical depth and business impactExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrategic mindset with hands-on execution capabilityStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsIn the US, the target base salary for this role is $160,000-$180,000. Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.
