This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations while managing payroll data integrity and confidentiality. The specialist will collaborate closely with HR, finance, and benefits teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and support audits. They will also be tasked with generating detailed payroll reports and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. Ultimately, this role ensures employees are compensated correctly and on schedule, contributing to overall employee satisfaction and organizational efficiency.\r\nMinimum Qualifications\r\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.\r\nMinimum of 2 years of experience processing payroll using ADP or similar payroll software.\r\nStrong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in the United States.\r\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.\r\nExcellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nCertification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).\r\nExperience in the transportation industry.\r\nExperience working in a multi-state payroll environment.\r\nFamiliarity with HRIS systems and integration with payroll platforms.\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\r\nEffective communication skills to interact with employees and cross-functional teams.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nProcess bi-weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time using the ADP payroll platform.\r\nMaintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and deductions.\r\nEnsure compliance with all applicable payroll laws and regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.\r\nInvestigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly and professionally.\r\nCollaborate with HR and finance departments to reconcile payroll data and support internal and external audits.\r\nGenerate and distribute payroll reports and summaries to management and relevant stakeholders.\r\nStay current with changes in payroll legislation and ADP system updates to ensure continuous compliance and efficiency.\r\nSkills\r\nThe Payroll Specialist will utilize their expertise in ADP payroll software daily to accurately process employee compensation and benefits.
