Maintain good work habits through timeliness and low absenteeism for daily assignments and extra trips.\nProperly care for the assigned vehicle and its component parts as prescribed by the company to ensure safety, minimize wear and to extend its useful life.\nOperate the two-way communication equipment correctly and according to company policy.\nInspect each vehicle before, during and after each trip using correct procedures and completes all necessary forms and reports. Operate the vehicle and stops to allow passengers to board and disembark using safe and responsible procedures.\nOperate adaptive transportation lift to board and discharge challenged passengers using safe and responsible procedures.\nKeep vehicle clean and orderly with daily cleaning after each route operated, as well as check for lost items.\nMaintain a presentable appearance which includes being properly dressed according to company standards, neat grooming and good hygiene.\nMaintain a cooperative attitude with fellow employees, supervisors, and passengers; always promoting company goodwill.\nControl emergency situations in proper manner.\nControl vehicle keys, pre-trip and post-trip forms while in possession, and turns in to dispatch as required by your supervisor.\nSuccessfully complete driving skills evaluation.\nAttend all required in-service training, company required safety meetings and training, and any other required meetings.\nAbility to comply with all contractual obligations as well as all local, state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of the vehicle.\nImmediately report every accident, no matter how insignificant the accident may appear.\nAccurately maintain proper shift documentation reports, and records.\nFollow the correct end-of-shift procedures.\nFollow all safety policies and procedures.\nExhibit both written and spoken communication skills and communicate effectively.\nAbility to read a map and possess knowledge of the service area.\nAbility to work flexible hours.\nMust be hospitable, guest/customer service oriented, and be willing to serve the needs of passengers.\nThorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.\nAbility to safely drive various vehicles.\nAbility to work independently.\nAbility to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization.\nTravel requirement (as a percent): 100% of time is spent in the field.\nPerforms other duties as required.\nQualifications:\nMust possess a valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.\nMust have a satisfactory driving record.\nMust be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.\nMust be a licensed motor vehicle operator with no suspensions or revocations within the last three (3) years.\nMust meet the requirements to attain and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card.\nMust obtain a valid School Bus Certificate as a condition of employment.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent, such as G.E.D. preferred.\nAt least one (1) year of previous professional driving experience which can be confirmed with your previous employer preferred.\nPrevious bus or other heavy duty vehicle driving experience preferred.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe essential functions of this position require the ability to:\nWork outside or in a vehicle 90% of the time. Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold and in wet and/or humid conditions.\nExposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibrations with moderate noise.\nFrequently sit for extended periods of time.\nStand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.\nPerform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, legs, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crouch or crawl.\nWork a flexible work schedule as needed.\nOccasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.\nMeet vision requirements including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, night vision, and ability to adjust focus.\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
