Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, the Per-Diem Nurse plays a vital role in supporting youth during some of their most challenging moments. If you believe in delivering services with respect and invoke hope with the clients you work with, we invite you to join our dedicated team at our Crisis Services program.ABOUT VENTURA COUNTY CRISIS SERVICESSeneca's Ventura County Crisis Services program offers a spectrum of behavioral health care crisis services to support youth and their families. These services provide safe refuge for young people who have experienced profound mental health needs including psychiatric evaluation or hospitalization. Our programs deeply engage in conversations and training on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to bring equity and justice to the youth and families we serve.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide quality care, including nursing triage and assessmentEvaluate and chart illness and/or injuriesManage physician orders and prescriptionsEnsure safe medication processes are followed, including:Procurement, ordering, storage, administration practicesCollect and analyze assessment data to formulate resident care problems and individualized outcomesPlans, implements, and evaluates nursing interventionsCollaborates with Psychiatrist to ensure quality of medication administration, adequate consents, medical treatment and follow-upMaintain working relationship with pediatricians, specialists, psychiatrists, therapists, and hospitals who provide care to the youthProvide ongoing training for staff on medications and other health-related educationUtilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques, this may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical managementQUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:Education Requirements:Bachelors of Science in Nursing ORAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN)Active California Registered Nursing LicenseCPR - BLSAt least 21 years of age.TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.PREFERRED:Public Health CertificateExperience with pediatrics, mental health, Community Care Licensing regulations, and/or triage assessmentExcellent initiative, correspondence, and follow through with teamGreat organizational skillsSCHEDULE* Per Diem; hours will varyBENEFITSStarting at $54.91 - $57.41 per hourActual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the roleAdditional compensation may be provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency examPromotional opportunities across the agency in California and Washington
