This is a vacant position for which we are actively recruiting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nEssential Job Functions\n\nWork independently to complete structural design calculations and mark up design drawings to be drafted\n\nLead project teams to coordinate the completion of small projects\n\nLiaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors, and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for use in preparing preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.\n\nCommitting to and maintaining project timelines\n\nThe ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required (strong organizational skills)\n\nPreparation and/or verification of design drawings and calculations\n\nPreparation and/or verification of procurement activities and deliverables\n\nPrepare purchase requisition, review technical content of supplier bids and technical submissions\n\nPerform any required inspections as necessary for procurement of material.\n\nMonitor project schedule and budgets within your area of responsibility and report status on a regular basis\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n5+ years experience in structural engineering, specifically in structural steel and foundation design for high voltage substations, transmission lines, industrial, power generation, industrial buildings, and other utility projects.\n\nMust possess a Bachelors’ Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and be licensed to practice as a professional engineer in California (USA).\n\nExperience with transmission station structures and overhead transmission lines with operating voltages not less than 115 kV\n\nPrevious experience in the design of heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), preferably in the power industry, and Consulting Engineering experience is desirable\n\nMust have strong computer skills (familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, MathCAD, Structural Analysis Software such as STAAD, SFrame, RISA, LPILE and/or transmission line design software PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole & Tower, SAGSEC and CAISSON etc...)\n\nExperience in business development and civil design would be an asset.\n\nStrong leadership, communication, report writing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills are required. Candidate must effectively work as part of the multidiscipline design team and provide leadership and guidance to the team.\n\nMust be able to work independently and with others on multiple projects.\n\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to sit or stand as required and remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the workday.\n\nFrequent use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, including continuous operation of a computer and other standard office equipment such as calculators, copiers, and printers.\n\nThe majority of work is performed in a professional office setting.\n\nPeriodic travel may be required and could involve limited exposure to extreme temperatures.
