If so, we strongly encourage you to apply to be the next Math Teacher for our wonderfully unique and rural semi-private high school.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field that allows for certificationHolds appropriate Maine Department of Education CertificationSpecific preparation to teach at the high school levelPerformance ResponsibilitiesPlan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students in a classroom environment condusive to learning and appropriate to their maturity and interests.Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects.Create a classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting state objectives.Assess student accomplishments regularly and provide feedback as required.Assess learning difficulties and seek assistance from district specialists as needed.Strive to improve professionally through ongoing learning and reflection.Assist administration in implementing school policies and maintaining a fair, orderly classroom.Attend staff meetings, serve on committees as appropriate and available, and actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, funds, and facilities.Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.Organize class materials and plans to ensure minimal disruption during teacher absences.Utiliize community resources when available.Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when reasonably requested.Perform other related duties as assigned.The Ideal CandidateYou are a relationship-first educator who thrives in a tight-knit, collaborative environment.
