If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.\nJob Summary\nTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Test Engineering Supervisor located in Columbia, SC.\nReporting to the Quality/Test Manager the Test Engineering Supervisor will be Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising activities of engineering staff and monitoring performance of assigned responsibilities.\nWhat a typical day looks like:\nProvide technical direction, coordination, and mentorship to engineering team and field staff to optimize facility throughput and reliability.\nSupervise the activities of staff engaged in project engineering or development services programs.\nAccountable to ensure that sound engineering practices are followed.\nSupport key business processes; management of change, and forecasting.\nEvaluate new technologies for implementation at current and future development phases.\nSupervise staff performing support and maintenance of engineering records or development-related services such as the review.\nOversee engineering project management work for projects and facility upgrades.\nOversee the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for new and existing products.\nEnsure the effective use of materials equipment, personnel safety during testing and producing quality products at minimum costs.\nSupervise staff to develop systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products.\nSelect, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.\nThe experience we’re looking to add to our team:\nRequires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience. A Master’s Degree is a plus.\nTypically requires demonstrated leadership skills and 3-6 years of related experience.\nPrior supervisory experience is a plus.\nDemonstrates advanced functional and technical skills as well as people and/or process management skills.\nDemonstrates advanced/thorough knowledge of the function and Flex business.\nAbility to interact with internal and external customers.\nUse of the following tools may be required: Inspection: components, measuring tools;\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.\nAbility to write routing reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of employees.\nAbility to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.\nAbility to collect data, establish facts, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and draw valid conclusions.\nIdentifies skills needed within the team and works toward obtaining proper mix to achieve established goals and objectives. Demonstrates skills in teaching leading and mentoring.\nModels appropriate behavior in support of Flex values.\nAbility to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.\nOffice Skills including ability to utilize telephones and computer hardware and office software to include, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation packages may be required.\nDemonstrates knowledge of functional concepts and a solid understanding of Flex policies and procedures.\nHas awareness of the functional impact upon work processes and other functions. Use of various tools associated with the following areas may be required: Electronic Assembly, Cables, Testing, Machine Operations, and Mechanical & Electrical Repair.\nImpacts immediate (daily or weekly) operations of team or functional area. Carries out functional initiatives with a commitment to implement initiatives.\nExercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action, some of which may require management approval.\nNormally receives limited instructions on work, but works independently, Supervises/oversees other non-exempt associates.\nDemonstrates experience in performance development, teaching/leading, mentoring and/or organization development. Instills appropriate behavior in others in support of Flex values.
