The qualified individual will be responsible for meeting service level agreements covering performance, availability, backups, and security for several user groups supporting those application.\n\nLocation: Remote\n\nShift Schedule: 8am – 5pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). This position will participate in 24x7 on-call rotations for the production environment.\n\nWhat you will do:\n\nInstall Microsoft SQL Server instances in various configurations:\nStandalone, Windows Failover Cluster, and Availability Groups\nCloud hosting (AWS) including SQL Server RDS.\nDevelop, test, deploy and maintain security and audit solutions.\nImplement Center for Internet Security (CIS) and Safeguard Computer Security Evaluation Matrix (SCSEM) hardening standards.\nReview NESSUS scans to remediate vulnerabilities and database compliance findings.\nSchedule, monitor, and validate database backups and restores.\nResponsible for monitoring metrics collection jobs for performance, availability, and capacity planning though through Datadog.\nSchedule and apply DB upgrades, patches, and certificates.\nFollow best practices, work plans, checklists, and defined processes.\nProactively support application teams as needed.\nParticipate in project technical reviews. Lead work product reviews.\nDevelop and maintain database support documentation.\nResponsible of complex database incidents and problems, providing resolutions in a timely manner.\nEngage SMEs or vendors to resolve more complex incidents as required.\nImplement customer database change requests.\nQualifications\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nMust be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance.\nBachelors Degree and 5 years of experience, an Associates Degree and 7 years of experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years of experience\nMinimum 5 years Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience including extensive production support required.\nExperienced in virtualizing Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2022 and Microsoft SQL Server High Availability options (replication - transactional or log shipping and Always On).\nExperience with SQL Maintenance Plans, SQL Agent jobs, and Ola Hallengren's Maintenance Solutions.\nExperience with MS Windows Security Domains, Networking, and Group Managed Service Accounts.\nExperienced in AWS cloud operations supporting databases on EC2 and RDS instances.\nExperience deploying and maintaining Cloud Native Databases leveraging Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD automation (GitLab and Liquibase)\n\n Preferred qualifications:\n\nExcellent written and verbal communications skills.\nAbility to independently work remote and collaborate effectively with team members.\nExperience with transact/SQL language and programming experience/knowledge is a plus.\nDetails\n\nTarget Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
