At the lower grade level, the incumbent performs assignments of similar nature with less complexity and responsibility, you will be responsible for:• Uses statistical and other analytic tools to define structured structured query language, regression, and other modeling concepts - on large and unstructured data files.• Uses programming platforms to support development of analytical products, such as business intelligence dashboards and modeling applications.• Interprets reports, white papers, and other briefing materials that summarize complex statistical analysis• Understanding risk and other segmentation strategies using advanced modeling techniques to reduce default.• Forecasting macroeconomic models relating to a stress-tested scenario analysis.RequirementsHelpConditions of employmentYou may be subject to serve a one-year probationary period.Must be a US CitizenRelocation will not be paid.Must complete a Background Investigation and Fingerprint check.Males 18 and over must be registered with the Selective Service.As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a probationary period or trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. We will consider all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.QualificationsMinimum Qualification RequirementsYou may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-11/12, if you possess the specialized experience.Specialized Experience for the GS-11:One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-09 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:1. Experience using statistical and machine learning methods, including regression, classification, and ensemble techniques, to asses operational and financial data to identify trends and performance insights for dashboards and/or predictive models.2. Experience in using a database management language such as Structured Query Language (SQL) as well as programming language (Python, Java, or C/C++) to develop analytical applications.3. Experience supporting data validation and quality assurance within analytical workflows using Programing language (Python and SQL, etc) ensuring accuracy of data presented in dashboards and/or predictive models.OREDUCATION (see EDUCATION SECTION of the vacancy announcement)ORA combination of both education and experience in which the total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.Specialized Experience for the GS-12:One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-11 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:1. Experience applying multivariate regression, supervised classification, and ensemble methods (random forests, gradient boosting) to operational and financial system data to identify key performance drivers and/or develop predictive insights visualized through interactive dashboards and/or predictive modeling.2. Experience leveraging database management languages such as SQL, alongside programming languages (Python, Java, or C/C++), to design and develop sophisticated analytical applications in a cloud-based environment.3. Experience implementing robust data validation, quality assurance, and/or monitoring processes within data pipelines and workflows using programming languages and specialized tools to ensure the accuracy of loan-based datasets visualized through interactive dashboards and/or predictive modeling.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) GS-11The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). Ability to independently craft risk models using innovative modeling techniques.EducationThis position has a positive education requirement.A. Degree: that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. Credit toward meeting statistical course requirements should be given for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that included studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processingorB. Combination of education and experience courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
