Process Development & Optimization:\nDesign, develop, and optimize assembly processes (washing, pressing, leak or other testing, etc.) to improve production efficiency.\nUse techniques like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma to optimize production line\nEstablish and document optimal machining and assembly processes for different materials, part geometries, components and production volumes.\n2. Equipment Operation:\n\nSelect appropriate tools, machinery, and automation systems for assembly lines.\nOversee the setup, maintenance, and calibration of assembly equipment.\nEnsure the safe and effective use of tools and machinery.\n\n3. Quality Control and Testing:\nMonitor machining and assembly quality and address any defects or issues that arise during production.\nCoordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure the final product is up to standard.\nResolve quality issues by adjusting machine settings or processes and supporting root-cause analysis.\n\n4. Troubleshooting:\nProvide technical support to the production team, offering solutions to improve uptime.\nTroubleshoot issues that arise during machining and assembly, whether related to machinery, processes, or quality defects.\n5. Training & Mentorship:\nTrain Assembly operators and other team members on new machining techniques, tooling, and assembly process improvements.\nAct as a technical resource for less experienced operators or technicians.\nCoordinate with other engineering departments (like design engineering, production, or maintenance) to ensure smooth operations.\n6. Process Documentation & Standardization:\nCreate and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)\nEnsure standardization of processes and help implement lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Six Sigma).\n7. Data Analysis & Reporting:\nCollect and analyze data on machine performance, cycle times, and production efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement.\nStay up to date with new technologies, tools, and best practices in assembly engineering.\n\nQualifications:\nTechnical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanics, machine operations, and assembly systems.\nCAD design for basic drawing modifications\nProblem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nAttention to Detail: Ability to ensure high precision and quality in manufactured parts.\nCommunication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is typically required.\nAdditional certifications or training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar.\nRelevant certifications or work experience can sometimes substitute for a formal degree.\n\nWork Environment:\nAssembly Engineers generally work in manufacturing plants, factories, or production facilities.
