Tool and Die Maintenance Technician
Job Title: Tool and Die Maintenance TechnicianPay Rate: $22.00/hrLocation: Flint, MIReports To: Maintenance ManagerJob PurposeThe Tool and Die Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on tools, production equipment, and auxiliary systems. The role also involves fabricating parts, inspecting and troubleshooting tools, and ensuring equipment operates efficiently. The technician will work closely with production, maintenance, and other departments to achieve continuous operational success.Duties And Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment, tools, and facility systems. Tear down and rebuild/repair tools, presses, and fixtures as needed. Use mills, lathes, grinders, and other tooling equipment to repair tools or fabricate parts. Repair oil leaks on presses and auxiliary equipment, and assist in welding aluminum tools. Ensure compliance with all safety standards and maintain good housekeeping practices. Other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications 3 to 5 years of experience in tool build, repair, and maintenance. Machinist or Tool Maker Apprenticeship or relevant formal training. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel for creating and modifying preventative maintenance sheets. Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and plant safety guidelines. Strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented, and ability to work without supervision. Must have own tools. Welding and fabrication skills preferred.Working Conditions Work in both professional office and factory environments, including non-climate-controlled areas. Exposure to high noise levels, requiring hearing protection in production zones. Safety glasses are mandatory, and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required. Temperature variations from hot summer months (90+ degrees) to cooler winter conditions.Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Must be able to stand for 8 hours per day, with walking, bending, and twisting as required.
