Come join an industry leader using new technology for commuter rail services.\n\nDenver Transit Operators, (DTO) is a privately held company that has a 29-year contract with RTD to operate and maintain the new commuter rail system within the Greater Denver Metro area. We currently have opportunities to hire Train Operators and are seeking committed individuals who can successfully complete our 2-month training program to earn the Federal licensure to operate our commuter trains.\n\nPay:\n\nOur Train Operators can expect to earn an hourly wage between $28.27 - $35.85 depending on experience, education & training.\n\nWhat Will You Do?\n\nIn this position you will be responsible for operating commuter trains and yard services in accordance with Federal regulations and company rules & instructions.\nPerform pre-trip inspections and tests to meet pre-departure standards.\nEnsuring trains are on time to avoid passenger delays.\nMonitoring track conditions, signals, displays, radio and intercom communications. Making train announcements regarding station arrivals or delays, including responding to any emergencies, assisting with the evacuation of passengers during emergencies.\nCoordinate closely with train staff and security personnel to ensure the safety of all train users.\nComplete reports and documentation as required, as well as all other duties as assigned.\n\nThis is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules & regulations of the Federal Railroad Administration and their Drug & Alcohol policy.\n\nWhat Will You learn?\n\nOur Train Operators play an important part in keeping our locomotives on the move. We will teach you the dynamic workings of our trains, as well as the rules and regulations that must be followed to operator our trains.\n\nTraining You Can Expect:\n\nAs a Train Operator, you will receive formal classroom and On-The-Job training as part of an 8-10-week formal training program.\nYou will need to pass the required on the job training and written examinations to become a federally licensed Train Operator.\nYou will learn primarily from our Rules Trainer as well as veteran Train Operators and Supervisors\n\nWhat You Need to Bring: (Position Requirements)\n\nMust be at least 21 years old.\nAbility to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship & provide appropriate documentation.\nMust be able to pass a background and drug & alcohol test which includes Marijuana use.\nMust have a valid US driver license & clean driving record. (You will be driving company vehicles.)\nAbility to work any shift, holidays or weekends as needed.\nAbility to take direction and follow company and railroad safety guidelines.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nMust be able to pass a Physical & Physical Abilities evaluation, hearing and vision tests.
