At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.\n\nPURPOSE OF JOB:\nThe primary responsibility of the Driver is to safely and efficiently transport specimens from hospitals to the laboratory while providing superior customer support to our clientele.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nAdhere to Driver and Safety Handbook policies and protocols\n\nProper route preparation (coolers, icepacks, biopsy bags, vehicle checklist)\n\nTimely delivery of client supplies and specimens to the appropriate destination\n\nMaintain specimen integrity at all times, including the utilization of specimen carry bag to transport specimens from client office/lock box to vehicle.\n\nEfficient and timely completion of routes\n\nFollow route as scheduled/sequenced while allowing for special pick-ups\n\nUse logistics software for route picks ups. The software may require data entry and photos to be taken to notify management of the lab pick-ups or issues.\n\nResponsible for operating your vehicle safely as well as maintaining a valid driver’s license and driving record within acceptable company guidelines\n\nEnsure route is started with proper equipment and tools, i.e., carry bag, coolers, cellphone, keys, door hangers, reports, etc…\n\nCompletion of late return form when A.T.A. exceeds E.T.A.\n\nCompletion and use of “We Were Here, But No Specimens Available” tags\n\nCourteous and professional interactions with clients\n\nAll other reasonable duties requested by Supervisor\n\nCommunicate with Transportation Supervisor on all issues that arise during a route\n\nRepresent Antech in a positive manner at all times.\n\nResponsible for compliance with all processes including and not limited to: timekeeping, attendance and punctuality, safety requirements.\n\nAssist in other duties relevant to transportation services.\n\nWe share a collaborative obligation to ensure that we conduct ourselves in the utmost ethical manner and that we hold each other accountable to the values and standards of the organization. Antech Diagnostics has several processes in place to communicate with leadership and expects that employees will have a commitment to integrity and uncompromising values.\n\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nMust have at least 36 months of driving experience as evidenced by a current Motor Vehicle Report (“MVR”)\n\nGood interpersonal skills\n\nCommunication skills\n\nNeat, professional appearance\n\nClean driving record\n\nPositive, can-do attitude\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nProlonged standing/sitting/walking/driving\n\nFine dexterity with hands/steadiness\n\nAble to lift up to 25 pounds; may occasionally need to lift 40 pounds; carrying up to 15 pounds for several minutes at a time\n\nAbility to communicate effectively in English with clients, supervisors and peers\n\nVision-requires constant mental visual attention to details as well as ability to see well in limited light scenarios\n\nBalancing\n\nBending/kneeling\n\nPushing/pulling\n\nReaching/twisting\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nMajority of time spent operating a motor vehicle\n\nLaboratory environment with potential biohazards present\n\nWorks under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment\n\nNormally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments\n\nPotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
