This is a newly created leadership role due to company growth and is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level accounting professional, ideally with a background in the construction industry, who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and driving project-based financial performance in a fast-paced environment.This role will oversee operational accounting for designated business units and manage a team of 4–7 professionals, including regional controllers, senior accountants, and cost accountants. The position will play a key role in revenue recognition, billing analysis, project risk review, team development, and continuous process improvement across the accounting function.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee operations accounting for assigned business units and provide leadership to a team of accounting professionalsManage revenue and margin recognition, over/under billing analysis, and budget-to-actual project reviewsIdentify project-level financial risks and develop mitigation strategies, escalating major concerns and opportunities to senior leadershipLead weekly check-ins with staff focused on technical development, performance, and career progressionParticipate in hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of the accounting teamMonitor workload distribution and conduct timely performance reviewsSupport process improvement initiatives related to project accounting, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencyProvide oversight and guidance related to cost accounting, payroll support, and construction accounting practicesCollaborate cross-functionally with leadership and finance teams to support business growth and operational performanceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required7+ years of progressive accounting experience required7+ years of management experience requiredPrior experience leading teams of accounting professionals in a complex environmentStrong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 requiredExperience with project accounting, operational accounting, and general ledger oversightConstruction industry experience strongly preferredExperience coming from a larger-scale organization or complex business environment highly preferredOracle Fusion or similar ERP experience preferredCPA or CCIFP preferredStrong leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectivelyAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
