Overview We are seeking an experienced Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for cooking and enjoy working in a fast-paced food service environment. Duties - Assist in food preparation, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and plating dishes - Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety standards - Support the production of high-quality dishes, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner - Assist in menu planning and food handling - Work effectively with other members of the kitchen team - Perform tasks as needed, including helping with catering and special events - Demonstrate a strong understanding of culinary techniques and cooking methods - Provide support to the kitchen staff, including dietary aides - Maintain a safe and sanitary environment, adhering to food handling and knife safety guidelines - Follow established protocols for food storage, handling, and disposal - Participate in kitchen maintenance, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces Requirements - Experience in the food industry, preferably in a food service or catering environment - Strong culinary skills, including knife skills and food handling knowledge - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment - Experience with menu planning and food preparation - Knowledge of dietary aide principles and food service regulations - Ability to work safely and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment - Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude - Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods of time - High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred Skills - Food service - Help - Culinary - Food handling - Catering - Cook - Food industry - Menu planning - Dietary aide - Knife Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Health insurance Physical Setting: Casual dining restaurant Fast casual restaurant Quick service & fast food restaurant Upscale casual restaurant Shift: Day shift Evening shift Work Location: In person
