This position involves conducting on-line weight inspections of finished products, meticulously recording findings, and implementing corrective actions when discrepancies arise.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\r\nDevelop and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) weight sheets to monitor product compliance.\r\nEnsure the calibration and proper functioning of scales and other measuring equipment.\r\nConduct thorough inspections at all stages of production prior to packaging, verifying that ingredient part numbers and descriptions align with the formula while assessing potential food safety and quality concerns. Additional inspections may be assigned by the production supervisor or manager.\r\nInput and maintain test data digitally using a tablet for efficient review and analysis.\r\nComplete mass balancing checks at least twice per shift to ensure consistency.\r\nAnalyze inspection data and prepare reports regarding weight control, finished goods, and quality checks, documenting any deviations from established standards.\r\nIdentify opportunities for quality control enhancements and implement effective methods to address them.\r\nCommunicate any quality or compliance concerns promptly to the Production Supervisor and relevant management.\r\nConfirm that all ingredients staged on the production line correspond to the approved formula.\r\nRecord target weights and the minimum and maximum operating weight ranges on both the SPC weight sheet and the tablet.\r\nComplete graph charts and weight check sheets as outlined in the Process Control Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).\r\nMaintain a clean and organized work area and ensure scales are free from debris.\r\nTrain new employees on process procedures and standards.\r\nAdhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and plant safety regulations within the processing facility, reporting any food safety and quality concerns immediately to supervisors and quality representatives on shift.\r\nPerform other responsibilities as assigned by management.\r\nQualification Requirements:\r\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required.\r\nSelf-motivated with strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\r\nProficient in using test equipment such as Quantum meters, Bostwick meters, weight scales, calipers, thermometers, rulers, and calculators.\r\nCapable of performing basic math calculations with the aid of a calculator.\r\nExcellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and graph data on SPC documents.\r\nStrong oral and written communication skills to ensure compliance with quality standards and effective issue resolution.\r\nBasic computer skills, including proficiency in using tablets and familiarity with MS Word and Excel. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.\r\nPhysical Demands:\r\nAbility to regularly lift and carry product samples weighing up to 20 lbs.\r\nCapability to perform tasks in varying working conditions, including hot and cold environments.\r\nMust wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to sanitation procedures.\r\nAbility to stand or walk for at least 8 hours to reach workstations.\r\nWork Environment:\r\nThis position works in a manufacturing environment with variable temperature and loud noises from machinery and equipment alarms.
