This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering with operations, improving processes, and using systems and data to strengthen financial visibility across a growing transportation company.\nWhat You'll Do\nAccounting & Close\nServe as the key accounting contact for other functional areas.\nPrepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analyses in support of the monthly close process.\nReview financial activity for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with company accounting policies.\nResearch variances, investigate unusual activity, and recommend corrective actions when needed.\nBusiness Partnership & Analysis\nTranslate accounting and financial information into clear insights for business partners and management.\nAssist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities for assigned business units.\nSupport decision-making through thoughtful analysis of financial results and operating performance.\nProcess Improvement & Systems\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting workflows, and close efficiency.\nWork effectively across multiple transaction processing systems and financial tools.\nHelp strengthen documentation, consistency, and controls across assigned accounting responsibilities.\nLeverage Excel, financial systems, and emerging technology tools to improve accuracy and productivity.\nProactively support the organization's goals and objectives with a focus on continuous improvement.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting.\n4+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.\nStrong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting fundamentals.\nExperience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.\nAdvanced Excel skills and comfort working with financial systems and large datasets.\nStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.\nHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.\nWillingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.\nExperience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP/accounting systems.\nExperience supporting budgeting, forecasting, business unit reporting, or operational analysis.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPA\nFamiliarity with Power BI, reporting tools, workflow automation, or other finance technology platforms.\nInterest in using AI and emerging technologies to improve accounting, reporting, and analysis processes.\nExperience in a private equity environment.\nIndustry Experience\nTransportation, logistics, or trucking experience is helpful but not required.
