to support coding excellence, provider documentation improvement, and compliance initiatives across the system.\nPosition Overview\nThe Coding Educator is responsible for developing and delivering education programs that enhance coding accuracy, documentation quality, and regulatory compliance.\nThis role partners closely with providers, coders, and revenue cycle leadership to identify gaps, improve performance, and drive best practices across the organization.\nThis is a hybrid position, offering flexibility with the ability to work from home while also engaging onsite for collaboration, training, and provider interaction.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and deliver coding education and training programs for providers and coding staff\nReview clinical documentation and coding practices to identify improvement opportunities\nProvide real-time and ongoing feedback to physicians and clinical teams\nSupport initiatives related to documentation integrity, compliance, and revenue optimization\nAnalyze coding trends, audit findings, and denial patterns to guide education strategies\nCollaborate with revenue cycle, compliance, CDI, and operational leadership\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS guidelines and regulatory changes\nAssist with onboarding and continuous education of coding staff\nQualifications\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field (or equivalent experience)\n3+ years of coding experience (physician, outpatient, or inpatient)\nStrong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding\nExperience in coding education, training, or auditing\nCertification required (one or more preferred):\nCPC (Certified Professional Coder)\nCCS or CCS-P\nRHIT or RHIA\nStrong communication and presentation skills with ability to educate clinical staff\nExperience with EMR systems (Epic preferred)\nPreferred Qualifications\nCertified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)\nExperience within a hospital or large health system\nBackground in revenue cycle, CDI, or compliance programs\nWork Environment & Locations\nThis is a hybrid role with flexibility to work remotely and onsite as needed.\nCandidates should be comfortable commuting to multiple locations across the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs, depending on business needs, training sessions, and provider
