This role works closely with Senior Back End Software Engineers, data engineers, product managers, and platform teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned to long term platform strategy.\nThe Technical Lead is a hands-on senior engineer who sets technical direction, drives design decisions, and raises the overall engineering bar—while remaining actively involved in implementation, reviews, and operational ownership.\nKey Responsibilities:\nTechnical Leadership & Architecture\nOwn and evolve the technical architecture for platform services, application integrations, and data pipelines\nDefine reference architectures, integration patterns, and platform standards\nLead technical design reviews and ensure solutions align with scalability, reliability, and security principles\nBalance short-term delivery needs with longterm platform health and maintainability\nAct as and/or work with Product owner to create Epics and Stories to facilitate Developer execution.\nPerform ad-hoc analysis of incoming features to help scope out efforts and align technical partners.\nPlatform & Integration Strategy\nGuide the design of shared backend services and integration layers used across teams\nEstablish best practices for API design, eventdriven architectures, data contracts, and schema evolution\nEnsure consistent integration patterns across batch and realtime streaming systems\nAct as the technical escalation point for complex crosssystem integrations\nHands-On Engineering\nContribute production quality code alongside the team using Python, FastAPI, and AWS services\nDesign and review systems built with AWS Lambda, ECS Fargate, Kafka, AWS Glue, and PySpark\nGuide data ingestion and transformation approaches using AWS DMS, streaming, and batch pipelines\nEnsure solutions are observable, testable, and operationally sound\nInfrastructure, CI/CD & Platform Enablement\nProvide technical leadership for Terraformbased infrastructure as code\nDefine standards and patterns for CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and environment management\nGuide decisions around networking, load balancing, service discovery, and scaling\nEnsure infrastructure and delivery pipelines support safe, repeatable, lowrisk releases\nOperational Ownership & OnCall Leadership\nParticipate in the oncall rotation and serve as a senior escalation point during incidents\nLead incident response, root cause analysis, and postincident reviews\nDrive improvements in system resiliency, monitoring, alerting, and automation\nPromote a culture of operational excellence and shared ownership\nMentorship & Team Enablement\nMentor senior and midlevel engineers through design guidance, code reviews, and technical coaching\nRaise engineering quality through standards, documentation, and best practices\nPartner with Product and TPMs to shape technical scope, sequencing, and delivery plans\nInfluence without authority, helping teams make better technical decisions\nCore Technologies:\nThe Technical Lead will guide and work within the following technology stack:\nPython\nFastAPI\nAWS Lambda\nECS Fargate\nAmazon Aurora (PostgreSQL)\nDynamoDB\nKafka\nAWS Glue\nPySpark\nAWS DMS\nTerraform\nCI/CD Pipelines\nRoute 53 & AWS Load Balancers\nStreaming and Batch Data Processing\nQlik (analytics / BI consumption)\nPreferred / Nice to Have Experience:\nData warehousing and analytical modeling concepts\nExperience designing platforms, shared services, or internal developer platforms\nFamiliarity with eventdriven, microservices, and API first architectures\nExperience supporting enterprise application integrations (ERP, CRM, SaaS platforms)\nAmazon Redshift\nRequired Qualifications:\n8+ years of experience in backend, platform, or distributed systems engineering\nPrior experience acting as a technical lead or architecture owner\nStrong proficiency in Python and cloudnative backend development\nDeep experience with AWS services and distributed architectures\nHandson experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines\nExperience supporting production systems with oncall responsibilities\nStrong understanding of streaming and batch integration patterns\nWhat Success Looks Like:\nPlatform architecture is clear, consistent, and well adopted\nEngineers are aligned on standards, patterns, and best practices\nIntegrations are resilient, observable, and easy to extend\nProduction incidents are handled effectively with clear ownership and follow through\nDelivery velocity improves without sacrificing system quality or reliability\nSenior engineers are enabled to execute effectively under clear technical direction\nDisclaimer:\nBrooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
