The Solidworks CAD Designer will create, modify, and maintain detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical and aerospace components and assemblies. Day-to-day responsibilities include producing dimensioned drawings, applying company CAD standards, and preparing documentation packages for manufacturing and internal review. The role involves collaborating with engineers to interpret design requirements, resolve drawing issues, and incorporate feedback into updated models and drawings. The designer will also assist in organizing CAD files, maintaining revision control, and ensuring consistency and accuracy across project documentation.QualificationsStrong skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Solidworks, with the ability to create and manage complex 3D models and assemblies.Proficiency in Technical Drawing and Drawing layout, including dimensioning, tolerancing, and creating clear, manufacturable 2D drawings.Knowledge of CAD Standards and best practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, and proper documentation across projects.Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) concepts or related digital modeling workflows, or willingness to learn as needed.Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple design tasks and revisions.Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering and project teams on-site.Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting, design technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with aerospace or mechanical design environments, including basic understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T, is beneficial.
