As an Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating complex self-performed construction projects that strengthen and extend the life of our nation's structures. Projects typically include concrete repair, waterproofing, structural strengthening, post-tension repairs, and related work.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nPrepare estimates by calculating statistics such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per hour, and equipment costs to complete the scope of work.\r\nDefine and quantify the scope of work and prepare comprehensive conceptual, budgetary, and construction cost estimates for projects.\r\nReview historical data and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedents for future estimates.\r\nPrepare project procurement (including design-build) and buyouts to ensure resources are available for project completion.\r\nDevelop detailed subcontractor scope packages, outlining work requirements, deliverables, and performance expectations for each trade, ensuring clear communication and accurate cost estimates for bids.\r\nQualifications\r\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.\r\n3–9 years of construction estimating experience, ideally in related projects.\r\nAbility to estimate projects of moderate complexity up to $5 million and to mentor on multiple estimates.\r\nAbility to evaluate, quantify, and capture specification requirements within the estimate; experience with construction contract terms and conditions.\r\nStrong understanding of the greater Florida construction market, including current market prices and key stakeholders (engineers, architects, property managers, owners).\r\nExperience maintaining client relationships with light business development.\r\nProficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software; able to read blueprints.\r\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 50%.\r\nOur ideal Estimating candidate is innovative, decisive, and able to work in a collaborative team environment.
