The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.\n\n*Responsibilities*\n\n* Collaborate with management and Material Operations & Lab Services personnel to meet operational goals while upholding safety and quality protocols.\n* Maintain adherence to internal and external regulatory standards, including Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Hazardous Materials (HazMat) regulations.\n* Manage and maintain inventory levels for laboratory consumables, reagents, chemicals, and glassware across multiple operational departments.\n* Partner with cross-functional teams to meet operational needs, ensuring reagents, equipment, and resources are available for project execution.\n* Prevent interruptions to customer processes by minimizing delays related to warehouse operations.\n* Follow specific handling, storage, and temperature requirements for materials.\n* Ensure incoming materials paperwork is correct and materials are received in good condition.\n* Prepare receiving documents.\n* Pack materials according to proper shipping conditions and prepare shipping documents.\n* Troubleshoot operational errors and support daily operations.\n* Follow required safety procedures, use available safety equipment, and participate in safety awareness and training.\n* Participate in cross-functional training within Materials Operations departments as required.\n* Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives for warehouse functions, equipment, and procedures.\n* Respond to customer inquiries via email, phone, and in person.\n* Attend departmental meetings as scheduled.\n* Serve as a contact between customers and Material Operations & Lab Services staff.\n* Adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities across different areas.\n* Effectively manage multiple daily tasks and assigned projects.\n* Provide routine updates to supervisors and leads regarding progress, status, and departmental issues.\n* Participate in projects as needed.\n* Demonstrate professionalism and respect when working in a diverse environment.\n* Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.\n* Maintain equipment and work areas for cleanliness.\n* Demonstrate proficiency with material handling equipment and relevant computer applications.\n* Ensure all work is completed by the end of the day and use time efficiently to maximize productivity.\n* Meet timeline commitments and communicate updates as necessary.\n* Adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and DOT compliance requirements.\n* Maintain punctuality and complete all required training, certifications, and training records on time.\n* Train for and demonstrate proficiency in Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operations and safety.\n\n*Qualifications*\n\n* High School Diploma or GED required.\n* Completion of college-level coursework in biological sciences and/or physical sciences *OR* an AA/AS degree in a related science major.\n* No minimum years of experience required.\n* Material packing/handling, inventory management, and/or warehousing experience preferred.\n* Knowledge of safe chemical handling is helpful.\n* LEAN or other Operational Excellence training and experience is a plus.\n* Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.\n* Effective time management and organizational skills.\n* Ability to work independently.\n* Strong customer service skills.\n* Self-starter with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and delivering results.\n* Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.\n* Clear and effective verbal and written communication.\n* Strong initiative with a focus on safety, quality, and accuracy.\n* Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record required.\n* Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periods.\n* Ability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed.\n* Ability to work weekends, off shifts, and overtime as required.\n\n*Contract Details*\n\n* Initial contract length: *4 months*\n* Possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.\n* Contract may be renewed quarterly, with a potential length of service of up to *3 years*.\n\n*Interview Process*\n\nThe interview process will be *in person* and will consist of one panel interview with multiple interviewers.\n\n*What We're Looking For*\n\nThe ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with inventory, materials, warehouse operations, and laboratory-related supplies.
