Troubleshoot to provide solutions and ideas concerning problems directly relate to issues involving quality, production stability, process conditions and machine performance. Implement actions to improve product quality and reduce energy consumption.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\nFollow all plant safety rules and report any unsafe conditions immediately.\n\nPerform Material and Energy Balances in the Polymerization, Recovery, and Spinning processes.\n\nThorough understanding of distillation process and all the related variables that affect a distillation process.\n\nThorough understanding of reaction engineering and all the related variables that affect reaction process.\n\nLiaison between engineering group and production group and appropriate communication to ensure day to day activities are completed successfully.\n\nCollect, compile, summarize and analyze daily data from production and QA.\n\nEvaluate and/or troubleshoot current and future production problems that affect quality, production cost, production conditions and machine performance.\n\nImplement countermeasures to correct process issues.\n\nMonitor, confirm and request needed adjustments concerning production conditions, process equipment and process stability.\n\nPrepare production condition tables and conditions adjustment orders.\n\nSupport technical engineering during test production.\n\nDevelop the appropriate knowledge required to become a site expert in the polymerization, recovery, and spinning processes.\n\nDevelop automatic reports using miscellaneous data sources to help streamline the operation of the Spinning/Poly processes.\n\nInteract with MES frequently and help resolve logistical issues or other related issues.\n\nManage capital projects.\n\nManage MOC's for the Spinning Department.\n\nSkills and Specifications\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\n\nAbility to share knowledge with other team members.\n\nAbility to set priorities.\n\nAbility to self-motivate and take initiative.\n\nKnowledge of record keeping techniques and procedures.\n\nStrong knowledge of user support techniques and procedures.\n\nRelies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.\n\nPerforms a variety of tasks.\n\nWorks under general supervision; typically reports to a project leader or manager.\n\nA certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.\n\nAbility to develop close working relationships with other departments.\n\nAbility to get along with diverse personalities and cultures.\n\nEducation and Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in a technical discipline required.\n\nOne to three years of similar or related experience.\n\nThis position involves working with technologies and information which are subject to U.S. export control regulations. Under these regulations, Toray CMA must review certain candidate information including citizenship, basis of United States work authorization and country of origin. Ability to move within the production area and occasionally climb stairs. Vision abilities require the adjustment and focus of sight. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required.
