The focus is on infrastructure architecture, provisioning, scalability, monitoring, and reliability, enabling scientific workloads and platform services across development, staging, and production environments.\r\nJob Responsibilities\r\nDesign, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure across multi-cloud environments\r\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform\r\nSupport Kubernetes cluster provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management\r\nConfigure and manage cloud networking, storage, and compute resources\r\nImplement cloud security controls in collaboration with cybersecurity teams and DevSecOps\r\nSupport integration of distributed scientific systems and data platforms\r\nProvide operational and engineering support for production applications and development teams.\r\nConfigure instrumentation and observability for infrastructure and core services\r\nDiagnose and resolve infrastructure performance and operational issues\r\nCollaborate with DevOps and application teams to support deployment requirements\r\nParticipate in on-call rotation supporting production systems\r\nBasic Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field\r\nMinimum of 4 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer and/or DevOps Cloud Engineer\r\nEquivalent combination of education and experience may be considered\r\nThe ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy \"Q\" clearance is required. This requires US Citizenship.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nExperience working in multi-cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)\r\nStrong knowledge of cloud architecture patterns and managed services for AWS\r\nSolid understanding of cloud networking concepts and system design\r\nThorough understanding of cloud security topics and mitigation solutions.\r\nExperience managing or working with AWS Organizations\r\nWorking knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and networking protocols\r\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or OpenTofu)\r\nFamiliarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Nagios\r\nAbility to identify and resolve performance issues and system bottlenecks\r\nExperience defining and implementing scalable infrastructure solutions\r\nStrong organizational skills and ability to work independently\r\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills\r\nPrevious team lead experience is a plus\r\nBenefits\r\nCadre5 offers excellent pay and benefits, to include full medical, dental, and vision coverage coupled with 401K match, 15 days PTO, and 10 holidays.\r\nCadre5 is an equal opportunity employer.
