Process Engineering Manager
Role OverviewArlonEMD is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop our Engineering department at the Rancho Cucamonga facility. This role owns process engineering, capital projects, continuous improvement, and maintenance oversight — with a direct impact on product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and operational reliability. The Engineering Manager is both a strategic leader and a hands-on technical authority, bridging R&D, manufacturing, and quality to drive lasting improvements across the facility.What You'll DoProcess Engineering & Continuous ImprovementLead the Process Engineering team to drive ongoing product and process improvements, ensuring compliance across all production processesChampion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, DOE, and SPC methodologies to improve yields, reduce costs, and increase throughputEnsure all process and product specifications are established, current, and actively managed; oversee all process trial runsLead efforts to reduce Foreign Object Debris (FOD) across the manufacturing processDevelop and maintain engineer training programs for new and updated proceduresCapital Projects & EquipmentOversee the evaluation, purchase, and implementation of new equipment and capital projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budgetPreserve and manage capital assets across the facilityEnsure all Item Masters and BOMs are entered and maintained accurately in JDE; conduct periodic BOM auditsCross-Functional CollaborationServe as the technical liaison between R&D and manufacturing for new product development and process implementationProvide engineering, processing, and costing support to R&D and Sales for new and existing product linesSupervise and report on evaluations of new materials and productsMaintenance OversightPartner with the Maintenance department to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and operational safetyEnsure plant equipment operates efficiently and that maintenance activities align with production prioritiesPeople ManagementDirectly supervise 4+ exempt and non-exempt engineers; responsible for hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and employee developmentPlan, assign, and direct work across the engineering team in alignment with business priorities and deadlinesAddress team concerns, resolve conflicts, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learningQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field6–10 years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management roleStrong project management skills with a track record of delivering capital projects on time and within budgetHands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, and DOE methodologiesMust be able to speak Mandarin to interact with internal overseas stakeholdersPreferredExperience in laminating, coating, or fabricating technology — ideally in a PCB or specialty materials environmentBackground in R&D, applications engineering, or machine designFamiliarity with JDE or comparable ERP systems for BOM and item master managementWork Environment & Physical RequirementsThis role is based on the manufacturing floor and in adjacent office environments. The Process Engineering Manager regularly sits, walks, and uses hands-on tools and controls. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs is required. The role involves periodic exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat, and moderate-to-loud noise. PPE including respirator use is required for certain duties.
