Valid LPN License 2. CPR/BLS Certification 3. Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card 4. TB Skin Test Description: Candidates must be available to work weekends. Will have block booking and need to follow the schedule. One week will consist of 36 hours and the following week will consist of 48 hours. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be responsible for providing geriatric nursing care and services in a professional manner. You will provide a variety of nursing care for geriatric residents while overseeing and training subordinate staff in specific resident care. You will observe and report resident behavior and conditions while administering medical treatments according to the plan of care. In addition, you will act as a lead with limited supervision on assignments. This position works under the supervision of an RN or physician, however, if the LPN is in charge, you will oversee the functions of other LPNs and Certified Nursing Assistants. The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Candidate must work weekends. Position Skills: Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician within the scope of practice. Medications may include oral, enteral, parenteral, and other forms. Treatments may include sterile wound cleaning, dressing changes, postural drainage, and catheter care. Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments. Ensure an adequate supply of medications and equipment. Communicate resident medical, social, and functional needs to the team. Complete initial admission nursing assessments on new residents. Supervise subordinate staff and assist with direct resident care for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Conduct and participate in staff training and development programs. Attend and participate in staff meetings. May collect and analyze data for quality improvement and infection control programs. Train new employees as required. Perform other technical duties as assigned. Demonstrate knowledge of gerontological nursing theory and practices. Observe and report behavioral and physical changes in residents. Understand federal, state, and agency regulations governing practical nursing practices. Assess client needs and evaluate the suitability of available resources.
