The ideal candidate will have a strong vision that supports a first-time-right manufacturing strategy from design to completion, identify process improvements, guides and leads the programming team, and facilitates collaboration between Die Plate Engineering and Manufacturing Operations.\n\nPosition description – Tasks, responsibilities, competencies\nSafety:\nWork in a safe and efficient manner, understand safety risks and take appropriate caution\n\nTechnical:\nCreate, edit, and optimize NC programs and identify points of improvement.\nDetermine and calculate speed/feed data such that tool life and productivity are balanced\nDesign and build machining fixtures where applicable\nIdentify appropriate tooling and workholding for each job\n\nStandard Work:\nDevelop and uphold standard tooling, machining operations, speed/feed data, and setups\nProduce detailed setup sheets, expected operation times, and additional documentation for shop floor operations\nProvide documentation and justification for process changes\n\nStrategy:\nEvaluate components for potential insourcing and cost reduction, as well as provide insight on new product design\nParticipate in CAPEX planning and justification for new equipment\nEvaluate production processes and provide recommendations to improve flow\n\nTeam:\nLead programming team and facilitate collaboration between programmers\nWork closely with design engineering to provide feedback on design for manufacture\nEstablish quality relationships with machine operators\nThe incumbent considers all interests of quality, accident prevention and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, material and environment actively.\nThe incumbent is obliged to perform tasks requested by management that relate to his position scope or arise from company needs. The employee may be exposed to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp cutting tools, and moving mechanical parts while on the shop floor. PPE and hearing protection are required at all times while on the shop floor.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nThis position will require sitting in front of a PC for extended periods of time as well as some walking and standing.\n\nJob Specification\nEducation\nMandatory\nHigh School diploma or equivalent education\n4-year BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fields. A 2-year AAS degree combined with appropriate experience may be considered.\n\nDesirable\nMachinist / Tool Maker apprenticeship card\nSolidWORKS CSWA, AutoDesk Inventor Certified Professional, or similar CAD certification\nNCEES Field Engineer Certification\nStrong understanding of lean/6s principles, value stream, and other continuous improvement strategies\n\nProfessional experience\nMandatory\nMinimum of 5 years of CNC programing experience with CAD/CAM (Esprit/SolidCam preferred)\nProficiency in parametric solid modeling and drafting software (Solidworks preferred)\nExperience programming mill/turn, multi-channel machines, Fanuc macro-B, and Renishaw probing routines\nProficiency in G-Code and a working knowledge of Fanuc, HAAS and Okuma controls\nMust be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\n3-5 years of experience operating CNC lathes or CNC mills\n3-5 years in a professional engineering environment creating 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, purchase requisitions etc.\n\nDesirable\nExperience operating manual lathes and mills\nFast-hole drill, plunge, or wire EDM experience\nExperience with ERP software (Syteline, SAP, etc)\nExperience with NC verification software (Vericut, CIMCO, etc)\nExperience machining superalloys and ferrous metals\nInterpersonal skills and behavioral competencies\n\nMandatory\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nHighly organized and forward thinking in approaching tasks\nIndependent self-starter with ability to solve problems and anticipate and avoid issues\nStrong team player, work ethic and commitment to excel as an individual and as a team\nQuality-focused\nWork Arrangement : Onsite\n\nWe consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position’s responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, a candidate’s education/training, the position’s location, and the key skills needed for the position.
