We go from sealed wholesale bottles to filled, verified prescription vials with zero human involvement.\n\nWe built Queue because no one should ever have to wait in line for the medicines they need. One in three US pharmacies has shut down. Pharmacists are overworked to a breaking point. And patients are paying the price. Queue fixes that. Pharmacists get to practice pharmacy again — counseling patients, catching interactions, doing the work only they can do. And patients get their prescriptions in 60 seconds or less, any time, anywhere.\n\nWe’re backed by over $18 million from Alleycorp, Riot Ventures, Ubiquity Ventures, House Capital, and others who believe the pharmacy system is broken and that robotics can fix it. Queue was founded by Nick Desai (6x founder, previously CEO of Heal) and Joshua Liu (previously Tesla, Waymo, and Zipline).\n\nAbout the Role\nYou’ll architect a mission‑critical autonomous robotic system and drive decisions at the intersection of hardware, software, business and customer needs. You’ll guide cross‑function teams through a systems lens - using rigorous, data‑driven analysis to sharpen execution. Together, we’ll scale our robots to high‑volume production and bring reliable pharmacy automation to patients nationwide.\n\nWhat You Bring\n\nSystem Architecture & Technical Leadership:\n\nOwn the end‑to‑end architecture, defining requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets\n\nAct as the technical integrator across hardware, software, controls, manufacturing, and operations\n\nResolve ambiguity through structured analysis and clear decision making\n\nBalance performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and customer/unit‑economic constraints\n\nModel‑Driven Tradeoffs:\n\nBuild and maintain system‑level models for performance, throughput, reliability and cost.\n\nApply first‑principles reasoning, simulation, and quantitative trade studies to architectural decisions\n\nUpdate assumptions and margins as manufacturing and field data come in.\n\nScale, Verification & Reliability\n\nArchitect for high‑volume manufacturing and nationwide deployment, driving system‑level DFM/DFA.\n\nDesign for variability, serviceability, logistics, and field reliability\n\nDefine V&V strategy, lead integration, bring‑up, FMEA, and root‑cause analysis\n\nHold the bar for safety, uptime, and real‑world robustness.\n\nQualifications / Experiences\nMust Have\n\n6+ years of engineering experience on complex products, with a track record of shipping systems that carry real operational and economic consequences. Direct robotics experience is not required — we welcome candidates from adjacent complex‑systems domains (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical devices, industrial automation)\n\nDeep expertise in system architecture, design trades, requirements definition, and interface design\n\nExperience planning and executing V&V campaigns for complex systems\n\nFluency across hardware, software, controls, and operations, with deep knowledge in one or more of: electronics, embedded software, distributed software, mechatronics, or mechanical systems\n\nAbility to reason rigorously about cost, scaling, and unit economics\n\nFirst‑principles thinker who is data‑driven, decisive under uncertainty, and operates with high ownership and low ego\n\nNice to Have\n\nExperience in safety or mission critical industries\n\nExperience working directly with customers or regulators during development and delivery\n\nHands‑on experience testing complex electromechanical and software systems in the lab or in the field\n\nHands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment\n\nExperience owning regulatory compliance activities (e.g., IEC, UL, FCC)\n\nOur Values\n\nServant Leadership – Make those around you better. Like Rmix serves communities, we serve our teams. 4,000 pharmacies close annually — we're here to reverse that.\n\nDo the Hard Things – Healthcare, hardware, and company-building are all hard.
