This role ensures compliance with relevant safety standards, electrical codes, and industry regulations. The Electrical Supervisor will lead and coordinate a team of electricians to maintain efficient, reliable, and safe operations. In addition, the role involves troubleshooting complex electrical issues and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance and support production goals. Provides exceptional leadership and direction through coaching, mentorship, supervision and development with a focus on a safe and inclusive environment.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nSupervise and coordinate daily activities of electricians and electrical contractors across the site.\n\nOversee installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, components, and equipment, including substations, switchgear, motors, and control systems.\n\nEnsure all work is performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and site procedures.\n\nInspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustments or upgrades.\n\nPlan and schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.\n\nCollaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to support operational reliability and project execution.\n\nMaintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and safety checks.\n\nSupport training and development of team members to ensure technical competency and safety awareness.\n\nRecommend and implement system improvements to enhance electrical performance, energy efficiency, and operational safety.\n\nComplies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).\n\nTrain and mentor staff on operational procedures and safety measures.\n\nMonitor equipment performance and address any issues promptly.\n\nImplement and enforce company policies and procedures.\n\nConduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.\n\nAddress any personnel issues or conflicts within the shift team.\n\nManages employee performance and adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures.\n\nEnsure that training is provided to meet with the current and future needs of the mine.\n\nResponsible for the hiring, evaluation, commendation, training, disciplinary action, and dismissals regarding supervised staff.\n\nIf required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.\n\nResponsible to keep work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.\n\nMust be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.\n\nComply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.\n\nMaintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.\n\nComplies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).\n\nAble to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.\n\nCompliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.\n\nThe duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.\n\nOther duties and responsibilities as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nEducation:\n\nBachelor’s degree in mining/mechanical/ electrical engineering or related field is preferred.\n\nWork Experience:\n\nExperience as a Licensed Electrician (5-10 years)\n\nSupervisory Experience (2-5 years)\n\nKnowledge Required:\n\nMust be able to demonstrate proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials.\n\nKnowledge of the mining industry underground environment\n\nAbility to read and understand engineering prints (civil work, structural work, rock excavation work).\n\nKnowledge and understanding of mine regulations pertaining to construction in mining.\n\nOther Requirements:\n\nAbility to pass background clearance check, drug screening and physical.
