The work is technical and analytical, requiring the use of building codes, standards, and guidelines as well as specialized technical problem solving and ingenuity.\nResponsibilities\nIndependently manage projects of different levels of complexity from proposal to completion\nPeer review engineering work for accuracy and project goals\nApply engineering theory, design principles, and mechanics to various structural engineering design problems\nPrepare research reports, calculation packages, design drawings, and presentations to communicate solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences\nPrepare and analyze test plans, reports, and data analysis of new, engineered products while researching standards to confirm conformance to building codes\nPerform site inspections and prepare report of findings\nQualifications\nBachelor's or Master's Degree in Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Structural Mechanics\n3 years of relevant engineering experience\nEIT with ability to obtain PE within 1 year, SE preferred\nWorking knowledge of building codes and material manuals for steel, concrete, and wood construction\nExperience preparing design drawings and plan sets in AutoCAD and/or Revit\nAbility to develop automated systems for repetitive tasks using TEDDS, VBA, Mathcad, etc.\nProficiency using Finite Element Analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, RISA)\nExperience in building science, building code application, and architectural design is preferred\nAbout DrJ\nFounded in 2011, one of DrJ Engineering LLC’s primary objectives is to support the construction industry by evaluating new and innovative building materials, products, services, designs, and/or methods of construction for use in the structural and building envelope sector.
