Sr. Electrical Engineer – Conveyor Systems (Columbus)

M-Team Solutions is currently recruiting for a Sr. Electrical Engineer for a direct hire opportunity supporting large-scale material handling and conveyor automation projects in the Columbus, OH area. We are looking for experienced controls engineers with strong PLC, HMI, and industrial automation backgrounds.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and commission electrical control systems for material handling equipment and conveyor systemsCreate electrical drawings and detailing packages including:Wiring diagramsControl panel layoutsElectrical device layoutsProgram and troubleshoot PLC systems for automated conveyor applicationsDesign and develop HMI screens and operator interfacesDefine electrical components and generate Bills of Material (BOMs)Write Sequence of Operations and system functionality documentationPerform calculations related to:Power distributionCycle timesIndustrial communications networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, etc.)Configure and validate VFD parameters for conveyor systems including load sharing applicationsLead commissioning activities in both shop and field environmentsSupport installation, startup, troubleshooting, and debugging of field wiring issuesCoordinate with electricians, millwrights, and skilled trades during installationConduct plant and construction site inspectionsLead project meetings and communicate directly with customers and vendorsSupervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staffQualifications5–10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering and industrial controls designStrong experience with PLC programming platforms such as:Allen Bradley ControlLogixSiemensMitsubishiOmronGEExperience designing HMI systems including:PanelViewGEPROFACEProficiency with AutoCAD 2D requiredUnderstanding of industrial electrical standards and codes including:NECNFPA 79UL 508AOSHAANSIStrong troubleshooting skills with industrial electrical systemsExperience with material handling equipment and automotive manufacturing environments preferredStrong communication and project leadership skillsAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneouslyComfortable working in fast-paced industrial and manufacturing environmentsEducationBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferredAdditional RequirementsAbility to travel to project sites including Canada and MexicoMust be available for occasional weekends, overtime, nights, and holidays as required by project schedulesMust be physically capable of climbing ladders/scaffolding and standing or walking for extended periods
