divh2Occupational Therapist/h2pThe Occupational Therapist functions as a service provider to assist students in achieving the goals and objectives identified on student Individual Education Plans (IEP). The job summary includes attending parent conferences and meetings to assist in development of Individual Education Plans (IEP), assessing the fine/gross motor skills of students and determining skill deficits, identifying the skill needs of students who have fine/gross motor skill discrepancies that require remediation, providing remediation or adaptations targeted directly on the skill(s) deficit(s) in the areas of fine/gross motor, consulting with and/or instructing others who may carry out recommended activities to assure that student needs are met, providing educational/functional activities relative to physical growth and development, with emphasis on fine motor and sensory needs in order to provide for the educational needs of the student, working in a direct instructional mode to provide activities which relate directly to the students skill deficit, and other job related duties as assigned./ppQualifications include a BA/BS degree, valid license by State of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Health, OP Practitioner Registration, capability of serving in an itinerant capacity traveling independently between schools, knowledge of typical physical growth of children and a knowledge of physical disabilities and their affect on normal physical growth and development of children, knowledge of current medical and educational research relative to the field of occupational therapy, demonstrated teaching skills, good human relation skills, and good communication skills./p/div
