This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial management, strengthening accounting processes, maintaining compliance, and providing timely financial insights to support business growth.\nPosition Summary\nThe Controller will oversee all aspects of PlayersTV’s accounting function, including financial reporting, general ledger management, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, compliance reporting, and month-end close processes.\nThis is a hands-on accounting leadership role for someone who enjoys both managing day-to-day accounting responsibilities and improving processes to support a growing organization. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with leadership and operational teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.\nManage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.\nPrepare and maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules.\nManage cash flow tracking, forecasting, and reporting.\nOversee payroll accounting processes, including payroll reconciliations, payroll-related journal entries, and payroll reporting.\nManage payroll tax compliance processes, including oversight of payroll tax account registrations, state tax requirements, and required filings.\nEnsure timely preparation and submission of quarterly payroll tax filings and other required federal and state financial reporting.\nMaintain compliance with state registrations, business entity requirements, and applicable financial reporting obligations.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nMaintain accurate financial records and ensure proper account reconciliations.\nCoordinate annual audits and work with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.\nEnsure compliance with applicable financial reporting requirements.\nPrepare financial reports and analysis for executive leadership.\nManage and optimize accounting systems, processes, and workflows.\nIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, automate processes, and strengthen financial operations.\nSupport budgeting and forecasting activities.\nPartner with internal teams, including HR, Operations, and leadership, on financial processes and reporting needs.\nAssist with special projects and other financial initiatives as needed.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience.\nPrior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role.\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.\nExperience managing the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and month-end close.\nExperience preparing financial statements and management reports.\nExperience managing payroll-related accounting and compliance processes.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working in a startup or high-growth company environment.\nExperience building and improving accounting processes and internal controls.\nExperience managing multi-state payroll tax compliance, state registrations, and financial reporting requirements.\nExperience with accounting and financial operations platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Bill.com, NetSuite, or similar systems.\nExperience managing financial operations in a remote environment.\nMedia, entertainment,
