And so much more.\n\nCome break through with us.\n\nCorning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.\n\nScope of Position: This position is for an Die Performance Engineer within the Corning Environmental Technologies (CET) Division, located at the Erwin Manufacturing Complex (EMC).\n\nThe role will report into the Die Performance Manager. The responsibilities for this role include driving deep into the integration and understanding of die/forming interactions to deliver performance and quality improvements in extrusion through dies. Additional responsibilities include leading or supporting both short and long-term die improvement projects.\n\nDay to Day Responsibilities\n\nEstablish and maintain the interface required between die manufacturing and CET’s extrusion plants for die performance of new and existing die designs.\nEnsure proper support for the resolution of extrusion performance issues related to dies, which includes troubleshooting and/or project leadership.\nSupport a culture of strong partnership between die manufacturing, extrusion plants and Division Engineering.\nLead and/or support projects focused on extrusion cost and capability improvements through dies.\nAuthor and conduct rigorous experimentation in support of business objectives.\nEngage with peers and leadership the following organizations to accomplish the mission: Division Engineering, PPD, extrusion plants and the business team.\n\nTravel Requirements: < 10% to CET’s extrusion sites (domestic and international)\n\nHours of work/work schedule: Standard work schedule during business hours; Monday – Friday with some evening and weekend hours required to meet production, and project needs as necessary. Weekend team participation is a requirement of this role.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in an Engineering field with demonstrated work experience in a manufacturing setting. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics degrees are also considered with the appropriate work experiences.\nMinimum of 3+ years of process engineering experience\n\nRequired Skills:\nManufacturing experience in a factory setting\nApplied knowledge of die manufacturing and/or forming\nDemonstrated cross functional team experience\nDemonstrated efficiency at technical problem solving\nPerformance Excellence training (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)\nFundamental engineering skillset\nProject management experience - Leading or supporting\nAbility to manage and prioritize work across multiple projects\nFunctional knowledge of MEE and MIE\nTrack record of acting with urgency to meet objectives\nAbility to work collaboratively with colleagues both domestically and internationally\n\nDesired Skills:\nComfortable working with data and using established engineering methods to draw conclusions and make recommendations\nMechanical aptitude with a general knowledge of machining operations\nExperience working with external vendors and equipment suppliers\nExperiment Design (DOE) experience\nBasic understanding of Corning Environmental Technology Products and Processes outside of die manufacturing\n\nSoft Skills:\nPersonal integrity (We live the Corning values)\nTechnical curiosity\nAble to build rapport quickly with the existing team\nInterpersonal skills – open, engaging, enables others to perform at their best\nAbility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and integrate new learnings\nAbility to influence others\nCommunicates effectively both in writing and presentation\n\nThis position does not support immigration sponsorship.\n\nThe range for this position is $84,932.00 - $116,782.00 assuming full time status.
