The Operations Manager will lead field and office staff, improve operational systems, control costs, resolve problems, and make customer satisfaction a top priority.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage daily installation and service operations, including scheduling, crew assignments, priorities, and workflow.\nSchedule the appropriate employees, subcontractors, vehicles, equipment, and other resources needed to complete each project efficiently.\nEnsure jobs are fully prepared before crews are dispatched, including materials, equipment, permits, drawings, site information, and customer coordination.\nArrange Montana 811/UDig utility locates, rental equipment, inspections, utility coordination, subcontractors, deliveries, and other project requirements.\nLead, coach, and hold accountable electricians, installers, service technicians, apprentices, laborers, and support staff.\nSet clear expectations for productivity, workmanship, punctuality, communication, safety, and customer service.\nMonitor active projects and resolve scheduling, staffing, material, equipment, customer, and field-related issues.\nMaintain customer satisfaction as a top operational priority from scheduling through project completion.\nEnsure customers receive clear and timely communication regarding schedules, delays, project status, and next steps.\nHandle customer concerns promptly and professionally, working to resolve issues before they escalate.\nCoordinate with sales when project scope, pricing, or customer expectations require clarification.\nImprove processes to increase efficiency, reduce avoidable costs, and support consistent quality.\nEstablish consistent systems for scheduling, job handoffs, team communication, accountability, and follow-up.\nTrack labor hours, overtime, job progress, productivity, job costs, callbacks, customer issues, and other operational performance indicators.\nOversee inventory, purchasing, vendors, warehouse organization, vehicles, trailers, tools, rental equipment, and company assets.\nEnsure completed jobs include proper testing, photographs, documentation, customer walkthroughs, and closeout requirements.\nAssist with recruiting, onboarding, training, employee development, performance management, and staffing decisions.\nSupport compliance with company policies, safety requirements, electrical codes, licensing requirements, manufacturer standards, and applicable regulations.\nIdentify and implement cost-control and efficiency improvements without sacrificing quality, safety, customer satisfaction, or team culture.\nIdentify recurring problems, determine their root causes, and implement practical long-term solutions.\nMake recommendations to the General Manager and ownership regarding staffing, equipment, systems, processes, cost control, customer service, and other operational improvements.\nEscalate only matters that genuinely require senior management involvement.\nProvide clear and accurate operational updates and reporting to the General Manager.\nQualifications\nPrevious operations-management or field-management experience in electrical contracting, construction, field service, skilled trades, or a related industry.\nDemonstrated experience leading employees and managing multiple crews, projects, and priorities.\nStrong scheduling, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to coordinate employees, subcontractors, equipment, materials, inspections, and project logistics.\nAbility to coach employees, set expectations, provide feedback, and hold people accountable.\nStrong commitment to customer satisfaction and professional communication.\nUnderstanding of labor productivity, job costing, inventory control, purchasing, and operational profitability.\nAbility to create practical processes and systems that employees can understand and consistently follow.\nComfortable using scheduling software, CRM systems, spreadsheets, accounting software, and other business-management tools.\nCalm and adaptable under pressure, with the ability to respond to changing priorities without creating unnecessary disruption.\nWillingness to work in both the office and the field as needed.\nValid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.\nElectrical, generator, construction, or skilled-trades experience is strongly preferred.
