The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Department of Defense (DoD) and industry systems engineering, a proven ability to operate effectively in dynamic team environments, and the initiative to work independently with minimal oversight. This role requires proactive engagement with diverse stakeholders and the flexibility to assume multiple roles as program needs evolve.\n\nThe Systems Engineer will work closely with program leadership, engineers, and contracting officers to provide systems engineering support to the government customer throughout the acquisition lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead and/or support the development, analysis, and management of system requirements and acquisition‑related technical documentation.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and support the development, management, and traceability of functional and non‑functional system requirements throughout the system lifecycle.\n\nDevelop, review, and maintain technical and acquisition documentation, including System Requirements Documents (SRDs), Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs), Statements of Work (SOWs), architecture documentation, test cases, and design review materials.\n\nSupport and participate in regular team meetings, technical evaluations, design reviews, and the review of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables.\n\nIdentify opportunities for improvement in systems engineering processes and recommend enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.\n\nWork Environment\n\nLocation: Wright‑Patterson AFB, Ohio\n\nTravel Requirements: Moderate, up to 20-50%\n\nWorking Hours: Standard\n\nQualifications Required\n\nApproximately 10 years of related experience, to include at least 5 years supporting DoD customers\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline\n\nCurrent Secret clearance and SCI eligibility required (SAR/SAP experience desired)\n\nDemonstrated experience developing and managing system requirements and technical documentation\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical issues, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders\n\nAbility to balance multiple project efforts, meet schedules/deadlines, and interface with contractors, FFRDC, Government, and U.S. military personnel at various levels\n\nMust reside in or be willing to work in the Wright‑Patterson AFB, OH area\n\nQualifications Desired\n\nExperience supporting aircraft training, simulation, or modeling and simulation (M&S) programs\n\nExperience supporting acquisition lifecycle activities, including technical reviews and evaluation of contractor deliverables (CDRLs)\n\nKnowledge of digital engineering practices, MBSE, or system architecture frameworks\n\nAcquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Level II or III Certification (or equivalent) in Systems Engineering\n\nReady to Make a Difference?\nIf you’re excited about making a significant impact in the field of space defense and working on projects that matter, we encourage you to apply and join our team at [Company Name].
