Sun IP is seeking an experienced, results‑driven leader to join our Sales Organization. This role is key to our success and will directly lead a team of sales representatives. The position requires day‑to‑day leadership of remote and office‑based team members. This is a remote role (unless based in the greater Philadelphia area), with about 50% travel to clients, conferences, and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
Performance Management
Be holistically aware of team members’ activity and performance, while providing regular feedback and supporting additional training as needed.
Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
Mentor team members by providing ongoing insights for improvement and assisting in a hands‑on way in their development.
Hold team members accountable for achieving their goals and implementing performance improvement plans when necessary.
Coordination with the VP of Global Sales
Provide the VP of Global IP updates regarding both challenges and successes for each team member.
Collaborate with the VP on ways to improve processes, training, and performance.
Ensure the VP’s messaging and expectations are understood and enabled.
Take initiative to make decisions and drive changes within the span of authority delegated.
Team Leadership and Motivation
Lead, mentor, and coach the sales team to enhance their skills and overall performance.
Cultivate, support, and maintain a positive team environment.
Provide constructive feedback and coaching to individuals to address weaknesses and enhance strengths.
Monitor progress toward goals and make data‑driven decisions to improve sales outcomes.
Recognize and reward appropriate behaviors and desired results.
Attend client meetings to provide guidance and help close opportunities.
Onboarding and Training
Support the efficient and effective onboarding and training of new team members.
Assess and refine training methods and practices to better educate and prepare sales team members for success.
Requirements
At least 5‑7 years experience as a successful sales‑person and 3 years as a sales team leader.
Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies and performance metrics.
Strong IP knowledge and experience in a sales or sales leadership capacity.
Analytical mindset with the ability to use data for decision‑making.
Excellent leadership, coaching, and team‑building skills.
Demonstrated good judgement, business acumen, and strong negotiation skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated ability to support and cultivate a high‑performance sales team.
Familiarity with Salesforce software and sales performance tools.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
