(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.\n\nThis position is available in our Poway, CA office or Huntsville, AL office.\n\nUnder general directions with limited review, this position is responsible for applying innovative approaches to resolving unusual or complex engineering problems in the development of Army unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), with a focus on data modeling, software architecture, design, and requirements management for Ground Command and Control (C2) software. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and reviewed largely at completion. Initiates the planning of engineering projects and develops innovative designs or modifications in order to meet project goals. Independently performs difficult/complex engineering work with instructions as to the general expected results. Documents findings, communicates results to engineering staff, makes technical presentations, and may represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects. Provides direction to design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop and Maintain Data Models:\nDesign, implement, and maintain robust data models to support Ground Command and Control (C2) software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with system requirements.\nArchitect Ground C2 Software Solutions:\nLead the development of software architecture for Ground Command and Control systems, ensuring modularity, interoperability, and adherence to industry standards and best practices.\nRequirements Development and Management:\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to elicit, document, and manage software requirements for Ground C2 systems, ensuring traceability and alignment with overall system capabilities.\nSupport Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):\nUtilize model-based systems engineering tools and methodologies to define, analyze, and refine system requirements, interfaces, and behaviors for Ground C2 software.\nPerform Software Integration and Testing:\nConduct integration and testing of Ground C2 software systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless interaction between software components and system hardware.\nDrive Continuous Improvement:\nIdentify opportunities for process and design improvements within Ground C2 software development, focusing on optimizing performance and reducing development cycle times.\nTechnical Leadership and Documentation:\nProvide technical guidance to design and development teams, prepare detailed technical documentation, and deliver presentations to stakeholders to communicate progress and outcomes effectively.\nGain domain expertise in part or in whole of the Gray Eagle system.\nDrive success through requirements development, system integration testing, and supporting cross-functional organizations in understanding required system capabilities.\nMaintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nResponsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.\nExpected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.\nWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.\n\nJob Qualifications\nTypically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD.
